The Ancient Oak
Not a print. A metal tree that grows vertically on your wall.
Four vertical aluminium panels that compose a single scene: a tree from trunk to leaves. Each panel stands away from the wall, casting a shadow that shifts with the light in the room. European production. Dimensions: 39 × 19 cm per panel.

It's not a print. It's not a painting.
It's four separate panels — each with its own frame, its own weight, its own presence. Hung in a vertical sequence, they form a complete tree: from the trunk to the topmost leaves.
The metal doesn't touch the wall. Each panel stands a few centimetres away. That distance creates a real shadow — a shadow that moves with the sun during the day and changes shape with artificial light in the evening.
It's the same piece. It's always different.
- ◆ Four panels, one composition
Each panel measures 39 × 19 cm. Together they form a complete vertical tree. The order is fixed — the design only works in sequence.
- ◆ Structural three-dimensional effect
The panel doesn't sit flush against the wall. The gap creates a real shadow, not a printed one. It changes with natural and artificial light.
- ◆ 3mm aluminium — European production
Light but rigid. Won't deform, won't fade. Anti-oxidation treatment included.
- ◆ Four mounting points, zero assembly
Each panel has its own pre-installed hook on the back. One nail per panel. In place in under 10 minutes.
- ◆ Mounting kit included
Nails, spacers and instructions in the box. Nothing extra to buy.
Why We Build in Metal, Not on Paper
Most wall art is printed. A photograph, an illustration, a pattern — ink on paper or canvas, framed flat against the wall. The Ancient Oak isn't that. It's aluminium, cut and shaped into a tree, standing off the wall on its own hooks. The difference isn't stylistic, it's physical: one is an image of a tree, the other is a structure that behaves like one — catching light, throwing shadow, holding its own space in the room.
Paper fades in direct sun. Canvas yellows. Frames warp in damp hallways and steamy bathrooms — a real issue in older UK and European properties where humidity swings hard between seasons. 3mm aluminium doesn't do any of that. The anti-oxidation finish is permanent, not a coating that wears thin in a few years. What you hang in year one is what you're still looking at in year ten.
Dibond aluminium is what sign makers and architectural fabricators use when a panel has to survive outdoors for a decade — UV, rain, temperature swings, zero maintenance. We use the same 3mm stock, finished for interior walls. A piece priced like a piece of furniture should be built to outlast the furniture, not just the season's trend.
It's not decoration in the sense of filling a gap. It's the kind of piece a room gets arranged around — the reason people stop mid-sentence in a hallway. That's a different job to the one a print does. It's why this is built, and priced, differently to anything you'll find rolled in a cardboard tube.
It pairs with:

- — Bedroom, side wall
- — Studio or home office
- — White, beige, grey or taupe walls
- — Natural wood, linen, polished concrete

Final installed width: 39 cm. Total composed height: about 80 cm. Leave at least 2–3 cm between panels so the shadow effect can do its work.
